2003年リリースの6THアルバムに して、『Kid A』『Amnesiac』で展開されたエレクトロニック・サウンドへのアプローチを経て、ギターロックへの回帰を果たした集大成的作品。2001年の9.11以降、対テロ戦争のお題目の元でナショナリズムを用いた煽動や政府機関による情報操作が横行し、その状況に対する疑心や怒りに駆り立てられたトム・ヨークが用意した3枚のデモアルバムを元に、バンドのセッションで完成させるという、極めてオーソドックスな制作のプロセスを辿ったアルバムであり、そのプロセスについてトム・ヨークは「過去最もストレスがなかったレコー ディング」だったと振り返っている。「2+ 2=5」「Goto Sleep.」「There there.」他全14曲を収録。
